APOLLO 812 ALPHANUMERIC PAGER INSTRUCTIONS

Buttons:
READ – Right button with a circle with a vertical line through it.
SELECT – Middle button with a right arrow symbol.
FUNCTION - Far left button with two vertical lines.

Power On:
Press and release the READ button. The pager alerts as it powers up. The pager is now on standby.

Power Off:
1. Press the FUNCTION button.
2. Press the SELECT button until you are on the off symbol (it looks like a circle inside a circle with a line through it)
3. Press the FUNCTION button, the screen will say "PAGER OFF?"
4. Press the SELECT button to turn the pager off.

Set Alert:
1. Press the FUNCTION button, then use the SELECT button until the alert symbol is blinking (the symbol resembles a speaker).
2. Press the FUNCTION button. You are now in the alert selection screen. The message receiver gives a sample of each alert when scrolling through the selections.
3. Press the SELECT button, to move the cursor to the desired alert.
4. Press the FUNCTION button to move through the four types of alerts.
5. Press the READ button, to activate the alert.

Message Mode:
When a message is received, the pager displays a blinking up arrow on the LCD and depending on the alert mode selected:

BEEP emits a 16-second beep alert
MUSIC melody plays twice
VIBRATION 8 second vibration
SLEEP no alert

To stop the alert, press any button.

Reminder Alerts:
If no button is pressed after a message is received, a reminder alert will emit every 2 minutes (except Sleep mode.)

To Select a Message:
Press the SELECT button, to review all your messages. Move the cursor to the desired arrow and select the message by using the READ button.

To Read a Message:
Press the READ button to read a message. Continue scrolling through until you have read the entire message, you will know when you are at the end of the message when you reach the Date and Time stamp at the end of each message.

Back light:
When needed, a back light can be activated by pressing and holding the read button for three seconds. The light will automatically shut off in 20 seconds after no activity.

Duplicate Message Indicator:
Messages received more than once will be marked with a double box symbol.

Locking Messages:
1. Press the FUNCTION button. The lock message symbol looks like a dark box inside a light box with a box on top.
2. Press the SELECT button until the lock symbol is blinking
3. Press the FUNCTION button, and the message is locked. Once a message has been locked it can not be deleted unless UNLOCKED.

Unlocking Messages:
To unlock a message, repeat the same process as locking the message but select the unlock symbol instead of the lock symbol. The unlock symbol has the dark box inside the light box but the top box is open.

Erase Message:
1. Using the SELECT button, select the message to be deleted.
2. Press the FUNCTION button
3. Press the SELECT button until you reach the delete message symbol (it is a square with a diagonal line going through it). When the delete message symbol is blinking
4. Press the function button, this displays the "DELETE?" screen.
5. Press the SELECT button, to receive confirmation of the delete request. Or press the READ button, to exit the delete request.

To Erase All:
1. Press the FUNCTION button to bring up the function menu.
2. Press the SELECT button to select the delete all symbol. The delete all symbol is a box with the middle of each side protruding into the center of the box.
3. When the delete all messages symbol is blinking press the function button, this displays the "DELETE ALL?" screen.
4. Press the SELECT button, to receive confirmation of the delete request. Or press the READ button, to exit the delete request.

Setting the Time and Date:
1. Press the FUNCTION button to bring up the function menu.
2. Press the select button until the cursor is blinking on the clock symbol.
3. Press the FUNCTION button to display the "SET TIME" screen.
4. Press the SELECT button, to move the cursor
5. Press the FUNCTION button to adjust the digit value.
6. When the time and date are set properly press the READ button, to activate the time and date change and the screen turns to stand-by mode.

Alarm:
Alarm function will make the pager alert at a specified time everyday. There are 5 separate alarms that can be set for different times of the day.

To Turn Alarm On/Off:
1. Press the FUNCTION button to bring up the function menu.
2. Press the select button until the cursor is blinking on the bell symbol.
3. Press the FUNCTION button to display the screen that enables you to set the time. From this screen you can set the five alarms, the FUNCTION button changes the blinking number or symbol, while the SELECT button allows you to move between the digits to be adjusted. The number in parentheses is the number of the alarm you are setting. Directly to the right is the on/off symbol for the particular alarm you are setting (ON is the bell/ OFF is the bell with a line through it) you can toggle between on or off by pressing the FUNCTION button. When the time digits are blinking, changing the time for the alarm to ring is the same as setting the time see SETTING TIME AND DATE in the previous section.

Directory:
Can store up to 10 memos. Can be used as an additional memory, as a phone book to store important numbers, or to store text memos that are valuable.

Placing a Message in the Directory:
Putting a message in the directory is very similar to locking a message.
1. Press the FUNCTION button. The directory symbol looks like a stick figure.
2. Press the SELECT button until the directory symbol is blinking
3. Press the FUNCTION button, and the message is placed in the directory. Directory messages are stored on the far right of the screen.
Removing a Message from the Directory:
To remove a message from the directory simply follow the delete message instructions above.
Auto Scroll:
This function allows you to scroll through messages without constantly pushing the read button. You also have the option to select the speed you would like the auto scroll to scroll through the messages.

Activating Auto Scroll:
1. Press the FUNCTION button to bring up the function menu.
2. Press the select button until the cursor is blinking on the auto scroll symbol (the auto scroll symbol looks like a backward C).
3. Press the FUNCTION button to display the "SET SCROLL" screen.
4. Press the FUNCTION button to adjust the scroll speed. The X means the scroll is disabled, One dash is slow scroll, Two dashes is medium scroll, and Three dashes is fast scroll.
