Motorola Express Extra Paging Instructions

Read/Select Button:  Far right button; used to turn the pager on, display messages, and select pager functions.
Mode Button:  Center button; used to scan pager modes.
Light/Reset Button:  Far left button; used to turn on the backlight, and return pager to the standby mode.
Turning Your Pager On:
1:  Press the Read/Select button.  The pager will either beep or vibrate, depending on which mode is set.
Turning Your Pager Off:
1:  Press the Mode button until PAGER OFF? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button to confirm. (The time and date will still show).
Turning the Backlight On:
1:  Press the Light/Reset button at anytime to turn the light on.
Turning the Backlight Off:
1:  Press the Light/Reset button again to turn light off and return to standby mode.
Setting the Time:
1:  Press and release the Mode button until SET TIME? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.  The hour digits begin to flash.  Press and release the Mode button to set the hour digits.
3:  Press the Read/Select button.  The first digit of the minutes flashes.  Press and release the Mode button to set the first digit of the minutes.
4:  Press the Read/Select button.  The second digit of the minutes flashes.  Press and release the Mode button to set the second digit of the minutes.
5:  Follow the above steps to set the AM/PM and 12/24 hrs.
Setting the Date:
1:  Press and release the Mode button until SET DATE? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.  The month digits flash.
3:  Press and release the Mode button to set the month digits.
4:  Press the Read/Select button.  The day digits flash.
5:  Press and release the Mode button to set the day digits.
6:  Allow the pager to automatically return to the standby screen, or press the Light/Reset button twice to return to the standby screen.
Setting the Incoming Message Alert:
You can set your pager to alert with a vibrating alert, an audio alert, a chirp alert, and no alert.
1:  Press and release the Mode button until SET ALERT? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.
3:  Press and release the Mode button until your choice of VIBRATE?, AUDIO? or NO ALERT? is displayed.
4:  To change the alert mode, press the Read/Select button while your choice is displayed.
NOTE:  If Audio is selected, your pager automatically goes into the Set Pleasing Alert mode.


Setting the Pleasing Alerts

1:  Press and release the Mode button until SET ALERT? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.
3:  Press and release the Mode button until AUDIO? is displayed.
4:  Press the Read/Select button.
5:  Press and release the Mode button until your choice of Alert 1 – 7 is displayed.  The pager gives a sample of each alert while scrolling through the pleasing alerts menu.
6:  Press the Read/Select button to activate your selection and return to the standby screen.

Receiving and Reading Messages

1:  Press any button to stop the alert.
2:  Press the Read/Select button to display the message. 
3:  Press the Read/Select button again to display the second screen of the message.
4:  Press the Light/Reset button to return to the standby screen.
NOTE:  If messages are left unread, the pager gives a reminder alert every two minutes unless the pager is set to No Alert.

Erasing Messages

Erasing Individual Messages:
1:  While the message is displayed, press and release the Mode button until ERASE? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button. 
Erasing All Messages:
1:  Press and release the Mode button until ERASE ALL? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.  All read and unprotected messages are erased from memory.

Setting the Alarm

1:  Press and release the Mode button until SET ALARM? is displayed.
2:  Press the Read/Select button.  The on/off indicator flashes.
3:  Press and release the Mode until your chose of ON (audible alarm alert) or VIB (vibrate alarm alert).
4:  Press the Read/Select button.
