Menu Button: Gray Button
On/Read/Select: Green Button
Turning Your Pager On:
Press the Menu Button to turn your pager on. Your pager gives an
alert by either a beep or vibration, indicating it is on. After
displaying the power-up screen, the time of day and an alert indicator
(if in the audible mode) are shown on the standby screen.
Turning Your Pager Off:
1. From the standby screen, press and release the Menu Button until
"OFF?" appears.
2. Press the On/Read/Select Button to turn the pager off
Receiving and Reading Messages:
Your Pronto Pager can receive up to sixteen 10-character (or
eight 20 character) messages. When a message is received, the pager
alerts for eight seconds.
1. Press any button to stop the alert
2. Press On/Read/Select Button to display the button
3. Press Menu Button twice while reading to display "ESCAPE?"
Messages longer then 12 characters display on a second screen, indicated
by the arrow symbol. Press On/Read/Select Button to display the
second screen. The second screen is displayed automatically after
12 seconds if the button is not pressed.
Turning the Light On and Off:
1. Press either button to turn the light on
2. The light turns off automatically four seconds after returning
to the standby screen
Changing Alert Modes:
1. From the standby screen, press the Menu Button twice. Either
"SILENT?" or "AUDIBLE?" is displayed, depending
on the current mode.
2. If "AUDIBLE?" is displayed, the pager is in the silent
mode. Press On/Read/Select Button to change to the audible mode.
The pager chirps and a megaphone symbol is displayed in the bottom
left corner.
3. If "SILENT?" is displayed, the pager is in the audible
mode. Press On/Read/Select Button to change to the silent mode.
The pager will vibrate.
Setting the Time:
1. From the standby screen, press and release the Menu Button
until "SET TIME" is displayed.
2. Press On/Read/Select Button to set the time. The hour will flash.
3. Press and release Menu Button until the correct hour and A (for
AM) or P (for PM) is displayed.
4. Press On/Read/Select Button to move to the minutes. The first
digit of the minute flashes
5. Repeat steps until all fields are set
6. Press the On/Read/Select Button to accept the selection and return
to the standby screen.
Saving Messages:
1. To save a message, press the Menu Button while reading your
message. The prompt "PROTECT" is displayed.
2. Press On/Read/Select Button to protect the message. A padlock
symbol indicated that your message is saved.
3. Press Menu Button while reading the saved message to remove the
protection. The prompt "UNPROTECT" is displayed.
4. Press On/Read/Select Button to remove the protection. The padlock
symbol is removed from the screen.
Erasing Messages:
1. Press and release the Menu Button until "ERASE ALL"
is displayed.
2. Press On/Read/Select Button. All read, unprotected messages are
erased. The pager returns to standby screen.
Battery Information:
Your Pronto pager operated on one AAA battery. To change the
battery, slide the belt clip in the direction of the arrow ( to
the side). Inside the battery compartment, you will find a space
for the current battery, and a space for a spare. |
